Torres del Río

The Iglesia del Santo Sepulcro is a 12^th-century octagonal church. Its star-shaped ribbed vault recalls Hispano-Muslim architecture. The church is thought to have served as a funerary chapel and as a beacon for pilgrims travelling the Camino. Its design is traditionally seen as an evocation of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and has long been associated with the Knights Templar, although this connection remains unproven.
