A Ponte do Porco ("Wild Boar Bridge") takes its name from the boar emblem of the powerful Andrade family, who controlled this area in the Middle Ages. Local legend gives the name another explanation: Teresa de Andrade was supposedly killed here by a wild boar after being separated from her lover, Roxín Roxal, who later killed the animal. A monument beside the bridge depicts the Andrade boar beneath the family's cross.
