Castelo do Neiva

An inscription discovered during 20^th-century restoration records the consecration of a church here to Santiago by Bishop Nausto in the 9^th century. It is the earliest known epigraphic evidence of devotion to Santiago in present-day Portugal and the first such inscription known outside Galicia.
