Murias de Rechivaldo

Murias de Rechivaldo marks the Camino's entrance into La Maragatería, a region historically associated with arrieros, muleteers who transported goods between Galicia and the Castilian interior. Their trade became particularly prosperous from the 17^th century, and some of the substantial traditional houses built by these families can still be seen in the village.
