Barcelinhos, literally "Little Barcelos", lies on the south bank of the Cávado opposite Barcelos. The Camino follows the historic approach to the river before crossing the 14th-century bridge into the medieval town.

Capela de Nossa Senhora da Ponte
The Capela de Nossa Senhora da Ponte was founded in 1328 beside the approach to the Cávado crossing and remodelled in the 17th century. Under its porch are stone benches and lava-pés basins traditionally used by pilgrims to rest and wash their feet.
